custom Button on a DCT

Hi,

I have a requirement to add new Button on the DCT. The new Button on the DCT is "Save as Draft" the purpose of this button is to:

My client doen't want to hace save on the top..I have hidden all the links on the top...and Customized the title of finish button as "Save and Deploy"
and need a customized button beside that as "Save as Draft"

1.Save a DCR which may be complete or incomplete.If the user clicks "save as draft".It just saves the DCR and then user can continue with the content entry or again comeback and open the DCR.

Can Someone suggest, How can I add a new Buttom and tie my custom script to that button?

There are no supported mechanisms to add peers to standard DCR GUI Buttons.

You can of course *customize* corresponding Frame's JSP or piggy-back IWOV Styling to create Button(s) with
JS/FormAPI but that's hacking. It will be much easier (not to mention supported) to add extra "Save/Draft"
Radio Button to the GUI (WF CGI Task, whatever) behind your "Save" Button

Few years back I've illustrated this JS/FormAPI approach for the 6.5. Search being what it is, I can not find
the thread. You can certainly try to find it yourself but it's a bad hack - much more troubles than it's worth,
not portable, etc. If I were you I would've used some alternative.

As I said in my previous post: You can of course *customize* corresponding Frame's JSP...

Rendered DCR Page encapsulates 6 Frames, "datacapture_buttonframe" is one of them. On the "onFormInit" Event
code that you've posted (re)assigns datacapture_buttonframe "location" parameter. Notably, it reassigns to the standard
Frame's JSP with the standard set of parameters.

There may be couple reasons for such hack. One is to "feign" parameter Value(s) that differ from the OTB Values
automatically supplied by the Forms Publisher. Another reason may be that "datacapture_buttonframe.jsp" itself
has been hacked/customized and as such needs re-run on Form Init, perhaps to get DCR Items' values.

All that is pure speculation though. Without looking at code we have no way of really knowing what it's doing
and how (if?) you can leverage it to your needs
