Teamsite 6.7.2sp2patch1a, win2003, IE8
Hi all,
As a government organization we are usually lagging so far behind the bleeding edge that the dust has resettled but for some unknown reason a subset of our users has decided that they simply MUST use HTML5. They are only using three of the new tags: section, nav and time but we have editor issues since they "don't know what to do" with these tags. VFE carefully moves them so they surround nothing and TinyMCE removes them entirely. For our advanced users (who mainly use Dreamweaver anyway) we've given them a text box for content input so for them problem solved. However, there are a bunch of "lay" users being dragged along too who can't afford Dreamweaver (or the time it takes to learn it) and count on VFE to help them manage their mark-up and accessibility requirements.
Can VFE (or TinyMCE in a pinch) be taught/forced to leave the tags alone (even with validation/accessibilty turned on). When I asked Autonomy about VFE HTML5 support they said there would be no support (though I did ask some time ago and that position may have changed).
Thank you
Susan

TinyMCE can be configured to leave those elements alone, using either the valid_elements or extended_valid_elements key.
TeamSite's default configuration is a slight variation on the default shown here:
http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/wiki.php/Configuration:valid_elements
You *must* use TeamSite's way of configuring it though, meaning custom_config.js for FormsPub, or customer-resource-teamsite.xml (might've got that filename slightly wrong) in the livesite_customer_src area for SitePublisher.
