Is there any way to configure the link to file dialog box to display thumbnails next to each image in the directory? Currently, the user must click on each image individually to see the preview.........

I think someone created their own image browser a while back that had thumbnails. That was a few years ago. Unfortunately the search engine on this site isn't much help as the older stuff isn't indexed.

Otherwise you can create your own callout for this. It would need to parse the initial directory where your images reside and then display that information on the page along with a thumbnail next to it. Thumbnails can be easily rendered using [PHP]

[/PHP] You would also need to have some links for navigation of your directories as well. One thing to think about is the possible performance issue if the directory has alot of images, especially images with large file sizes.

There's alot more to it that what I mentioned, but it would provide a start.
