File not being deleted from workarea

Hi,
I am working on a custom delete menu item which kicks off a workflow if the selected files are in Staging to delete the files from the Production server using file list deployment. This is incorporated to avoid the mass deletions we had , on two separate instances.When an approver approvers the work and an external task is called to delete the files, instead of deleting the files, the locking permissions are being changed and the file is not being deleted

Can someone please explain me why this is happening??

ok Smitty , I am attaching the delete.ipl script which deletes the files from the WORKAREA.Please check and lemme know if u would need the wft file too

This code. although not very clean, seems like it should at least delete the files, assuming the user executing the script has the permissions to delete the files. Is the person running this script allowed to delete the files in question? Does your debug info look correct? What are the permissions on the files you are trying to delete?

Also - you might want to check the return value from the unlink() call to make sure it is deleting the number of files you asked it to.

I could suggest several coding improvements - but I think it would be better to look at your debug output (perhaps after you start tracking the return code from unlink()) before bothering to do a critique.
