Assets not being displayed for certain folders
MattDWilliams
Hi we have a weird issue in that for some folders the assets contained within are not being display via the web client.
Works fine with the windows client and the web client does display child folders just not the assets.
Any help appreciated.

Which version of MB and IIS?
The thumbnail images uses a transformation primitive under the hood, it's not a flat file in a directory somewhere. You might have some luck looking in the Job Errors / Status (thick client) and in the MBP.log on the server.

I have seen this when there is a problem reading metadata (like thumbnails) from the filesystem (MBDataDirectory). This was usually caused by a folder that has gone missing somehow. The culprit is usually someone trying to clean up some space or after a restore, but occasionally I've see it when there were ingest problems (i.e. couldn't write those files to the folder when the one or more assets were ingested).
The problem is that it only takes one asset in the folder to cause the problem. But you should see evidence in MBP.log.
