Automated "Get Latest Components"

pineapple

Hi,
This is my first post so if I'm not in the right place or say something wrong please forgive me Smiley Happy

I'm trying to find a way using CSSDK (or really any other method) to get latest components on a .page as well as a .template. Is this sort of thing possible?

we're using teamsite 7.2

I haven't seen any SitePublisher stuff in the CSSDK yet.. seems it's still struggling to catch up.

oh, one more thing that may be of help. When mycompany was using 6.7 i could kick of a "Get Latest Components" by hitting a URL such as this

http://(teamsite host)/iw-cc/Site/GetLatestComponents.do?vpath=(vpath to folder or file to run get latest components)&done_page=&full_redirect=&scope=-1&method=componentsGlobalUpdate&iw_user=(iwenc username string)&iw_password=(iwenc password string)&iw_domain=(iwenc domain string)&_iw_which_ui=

however this stopped working in 7.2 (and i doubt it was ever actually supported) I'm just on a desperate search for any method to automate this process.

anyone interested in this, it turns out my problem was a bad page file that made interwoven throw a nullpointerException when proforming a get latest components on it. So i deleted the bad page and by golley it worked. Hitting that .do url still works to update the components.

If anyone tries this themselves just remember that if you update the pages the user you update them as locks the file, so dont forget to unlock them using CSSDK in your script after you're done. And if any Interwoven developers are watching, lets see some sitepublisher teamsite UI features in the CSSDK.
