disabling a node or page from a site urgent

Hi,
we have say xyz node in our sitemap which has a xyg.page assigned to it.
now we don't want to show this xyz.page temporarily for some time . so for this i went to sitemap tab and xyz node and did the following

1. selected No link for this node from the Link Type drop-down .
2. Unchecked 1. Visible in production site.
2.Visible in breadcrumb.
3.Allow child nodes

and published the sitemap .But when i directly typed the url in the browser i am still seeing the xyz.page.

Do i need to delete the node?


Do i need to do some thing else?

Hello there,

The attributes of a single node can be set, as you said, either from the GUI (sitemap tab) or directly (not reccomended) by editing the default.sitemap xml file.

The logic that shows the link to a certain .page, depeding on any of thoose attributes (say the " visible in sitemap ") has to be implemented in the component that reads the sitemap and then renders it into the actual page (i assume that a sitemap node will either become a header tab or any navigational page element), this means that with the sitemap you "detach" pages from the nagivational tree of your website.

This have nothing to do with the page itself being on the webserver, it means that by typing (cut and pasting) the direct url you will always be able to see that page unless you delete it.
