Managing visitor Profiles in LDAP
gomathiharidoss
We are using TeamSite 7.1 on Linux env.
In the Sitepublisher,Usually creation of development profile in dev database and the production profile in prod database. But the profiles will be created in LDAP. Instead of database, I want to authenticate in LDAP to achieve targetting.Has anyone come across this kind of requirement.Kindly let me know how to achieve this.
Thanks in advance

This has been done many times over.
In short:
1. LS maintains a user-profile object for each user.
2. You'll need a Controller that will do following:
a. Take user credentials (i.e. via a form)
b. Authenticate that against your LDAP (using your specific LDAP's API) or a custom DB
c. If successful, drop that user's relevant information (i.e. if you care about age, gender, income, location, etc.) into the session's user-profile object. NOTE: you'll have to extend the OOTB user-profile object to take any additional custom user-attributes. This is done through Spring configurations and I believe it is outlined in the SP Dev guide.
HTH!
