The following two DCR files are equivalent:
+-------------------------------+---------------------------+
| "Traditional format" | "Arbitrary XML" format |
| ( x/y/trad.xml ) | ( z/arb.xml ) |
+-------------------------------+---------------------------+
|
|
| hi |
hi|
|
|
+-------------------------------+---------------------------+
iw_load_dcr loads DCR in the existing tpl. Does this DCR reside in the same "data" folder where primary DCR , for which this TPL is used to view, is kept ?
what does "x/y/trad.xml" mean in this example ? It looks like trad.xml is DCR, which is kept in y folder which is in x folder and thi x folder is kept in "data" folder. Where as z folder contains arb.xml DCR and "z" folder is kept in "data" folder.
It looks like "data' folder is considered as root folder while accessing a file. While accessing trad.xml, which is kept is "y" folder , we are mentioning x/y/trad.xml. While hierarchy is /templatedata/category/data-type/data/x/y/trad.xml.
Is this understanding correct or wrong ?
Can we create hierarchy of folders in "data" folder ? If yes, then how does DCR of this data-type access TPL for this data type ? Does not DCR need to be in the "data" folder, in order to access TPL ? If not, then can we create a hierarchy of folders in "presentation" folder also ?

I was trying to create DCR in "XML" format, but for whatever reason, DCR was getting created same as like "iwov" type. Why would that be ? Everything I need to do to create XML type DCR is to mention in templatiung.cfg that DCR created will be of XML type, right ? And not use root-container in the DCT ( I tried using root-container and without using root-container), but I am always getting DCR of iwov type
Thanks in advance for your replies.
