I am trying to setReadonly on browser item. It is making the browse button disappear.

My requirement is, users should not be allowed to type in the text box. They should browse.

all inputs are appreciated on this.

One possible way to do it is to split single Browser Item into read-only Text Item and a Button to call Browser.
You can then use FormAPI to populate Text with the Path from the Browser, etc. I've illustrated this approach [post=104495]here[/post]

Here's another way of doing it. The nice thing is, you still get to use the browser instance and it's attributes.

Props to ISCBorisB as I borrowed his Reset button code/idea.

Here's another version of it. This one just adds cgi-callout to the browser attribute without having to create an extra item just for doing the reset.

Great. Thanks for all the responses. I think I can use the version code3.txt. That is actually resolving my original issue. If I use seperate items for text and adding two buttons is causing the space between the browse and reset. The code3 version resolves that issue.
