Automatically Initiate a WorkFlow

Hi,
I have a workflow.Is their is any way to run the workflow with out any user interaction. For eg My workflow should be run when clicking the submit button itself(without selecting the workflow).

Done this a few times. It will take some work.

My approach was to define a WF with no interaction (comments, etc) and then have it initiated from a New Job trigger (as opposed to a submit event)

Then I put a custom menu item called instant submit on the GUI which ran the New Job event.

The key is that there must be one and only one WF choice for this event. Then it will start automatically.

You can do that from submit event as well, but then you will only have one WF for that branch (otherwise you get the choice of which WF to execute - defeating the purpose).

If there is no need to do customization then you can achieve this by restricting workflow for individual branch or vpath level within available_model.xml.

You should go through WFM Guide that will help to understand the combination of "and' "or" and "command" tags.

There's two kinds of workflows, models and templates. Models are configured in available_models.xml through the TS UI, whereas templates are configured via iw-home/local/config/wft/available_templates.cfg. Using Faizi's comment, you should have been able to put your own workflow in there. To disable the OOTB submit workflow, edit available_templates.cfg.
