Teamsite 7.2.1 | IR service not up

Hi ,
I am trying to install Teamsite 7.2.1 on Solaris 10 using mysql 5.1.57 database server. I am not installing Livesite, Sitepublisher , searh and Report center.

My installation is completed for all 4 infrastructure components and Teamsite component. I am facing issue in Admin components and CSS DK soap service. As per inventory.xml the status of these 2 components is " installed". While doing final configuration the installer is giving error " IR Service not up"

I checked the Jboss is up and running. I ran the IWirstat command
-bash-3.2$ ./iwirstat.sh
ERROR connecting to IR Service.
I checked the common Service log and its giving below error:
Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure
......
The last packet successfully received from the server was 831,968 milliseconds ago. The last packet sent successfully to the server was 54 milliseconds ago.
......
Caused by: java.io.EOFException: Can not read response from server. Expected to read 4 bytes, read 0 bytes before connection was unexpectedly lost.

Have any one experience this issue. Any pointer on fixing this isse would be appreciated

Check your AppContainer's server.log. There's probably a stack trace in there related to a failure to initialize common services.

I checked the server log and below is the stack trace

ERROR [org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[jboss.web].[localhost].[/web-console].[HTTP Invocation]] Servlet.service() for servlet HTTP Invocation threw exception

at org.apache.catalina.connector.ResponseFacade.resetBuffer(ResponseFacade.java:288)

Also, did you do the following during your install?

When executing on Linux against MySQL, you must modify the configuration file before
you create the TeamSite database.
1.Open the my.cnf configuration file.
2.Set the following parameter:
lower_case_table_names = 1
3.Restart the MySQL services.

Also, what jar version are you using for your MySQL connection? Documentation refers to using mysql-connector-java-5.1.6-bin.jar. I'm sure it doesn't have to be that exact version,but close.

Hi ,
I am Installating on Solaris 10 so lower_case_table_names = 1 is not needed.
I am using exactly the same database driver as mentioned in installation guide.
Also we already have iwcommon services and report center database populated by installer while installing common services so connection parameter are correct. Here its trying to read the database at the end of final configuration for admin component and css dk components where its giving connection closed error. installation is already done as per status. post install configuration is pending where its failing and giving IR service not up error.

Had the same issue with our installation check the IR service database SQL service account or the account that Teamsite uses to connect to the database.

Check the DB user and password, if you have encrypted the password.

In the database for Common Services in the table User Tables - dbo.IR_DBINFO the credentials.

Check the credentials in iw-home\local\config\lib\content_center\livesite_customer_src\conf\livesite_customer\database.properties

iw-home\CommonServices\config\private\database.properties
