Hi,
I hope your environment OS is Linux.
In Linux there is only one root user who has got all the permissions and privileges and it is also called as superuser.
Any user other than that is called as non-root user.
Do let me know if you wanted to know something more on this.
Also don't forget to mention your environment.

Hi,
To answer your question:An administrator account is not an exact analogue of the UNIX root account.
The concept of root is in Linux and not in Windows.
In Windows we do have the concept of administrator and an administrator does not have all the privileges of root because some privileges are assigned to the Local System account in Windows.

In the meantime just wanted to know what is your exact purpose of this in TeamSite or you just wanted to know in terms of OS only.

Just a clarification - 'root' is a Unix concept, not a Linux concept. Linux happens to be a "flavor" of Unix, as is Solaris, HPUX, AIX, MacOS-X (Darwin), etc. (one could get into differences between SystemV, BSD, and POSIX - but that's somewhat irrelevant here)

The built-in Administrator account on Windows may not be exactly the same - but for most intents and purposes, e.g. for installation - it is essentially the same and can be read as such.
