How to develop workflow using lock task and external task.

Requirment:-when user selects any locked file and submit through workflow user should get message through mail that file is unlocked successfully.
Task performed:-i used lock task and external task to achieve it in same workflow. lock taks is working fine in separate workflow and file is going to unlock but when i use lock task with external task then extenal taks is working and sending success mail to author but lock task is not working(ie file is not going to be unlock.).

can anybody suggest?

Without seeing your code - or without you providing a mode detailed description of exactly what you've done, it's difficult to say where you're going wrong - however, (and I believe you may have posted before) - if you're trying to UN-lock files, why are you using a LOCK task?
