EMail not working in Workflow modeler

I have configured a workflow through workflow modeler 1.0.1.1
TS 6.7.2
Linux OS

We have set [iwsend_mail] parameters in /apps/geamts/Interwoven/TeamSite/etc/iw.cfg

In the servletd_out.log we are getting the below error-

2010-10-12 10:45:06,349 [http-8080-2] ERROR com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.workflow.task.urltask.MailNotificationTask () - messaging exception when sending task notification mail.
javax.mail.MessagingException: Unknown SMTP host: ;
nested exception is:
java.net.UnknownHostException:

Any help would be appreciated.

Check your SMTP settings mentioned in the iw.cfg file. Your email configurations seem to be wrong. Atleast thats what log says.
Also is this problem specific to a workflow or its a generic behavoir accross all the workflows?

This behaviour is generic for all the workflows having email task.

Below are the parameters I have set -

maildomain=yahoo.com
mailserver=yahoosmtp.e2k.ad.yahoo.com
use_mapping_file=true
email_mapping_file=/apps/yahoots/Interwoven/TeamSite/local/config/wft/solutions/email_map.cfg
debug_output=/tmp/iwsend_mail.log

Could you please tell me whether server restart is required for any change in iw.cfg ? or will the changes get reflected immediately.

You need to run iwreset for the changes to take effect.

Do not need a TeamSite reset

so like from the console i just need to issue the command - iwreset located at this path /apps/yahoots/Interwoven/TeamSite/bin

any args are required with it?

also can you please tell me what is the purpose of iwreset?

iwreset will allow teamsite to re-read all the configurstion files .

It will actually reset all the services if you will give -a parameter along with this command.

You need to run iwreset for the changes to take effect.

In some cases this is true - in the case of [iwsend_mail] settings, this is not required as those settings are read at run-time by the script / application performing the sending of the email.

However - if the information within the posts is accurate (always a question) - note that there is an indication that the configuration was done in:

/apps/geamts/Interwoven/TeamSite/etc/iw.cfg

but then:

/apps/yahoots/Interwoven/TeamSite/bin/iwreset

If that is the correct location of iwreset, then the iw.cfg file that was modified is not the one being read - and thus that might account for the problem.

Is there a

/apps/yahoots/Interwoven/TeamSite/etc/iw.cfg

file? If so - what does it have within the [iwsend_mail] section?

For this mail functionality, is there any specific .jar file that needs to be present.

If yes, then i can check whether it is present or not?
