TinyMCE not retaining Font Color

Recently TinyMCE has started not retaining font color once set. We can cut/paste from word, use font color chooser, edit html all to no avail. Initially when using font color chooser the color displays in the editor window but when we generate or preview the font color is not retained. Other font attibutes stick - like Bold, Italics, ... Any thoughts?

Is there a CSS which is masking that functionality, I seriously would check that first. You said it used to work before? what changed from the last time you executed it to today?

There is no CSS masking. The only change in the environment involved the application of the ubiquitous and mandatory Microsoft patches.

I think this is a 6.7.1 bug that was fixed with SP1 which we have never applied (and will not since we are upgrading to 7.2)
