Get input from controller components to Java class

Hi All,
I'm selecting a value in the drop down and trying to get taht value into my java class using controllers.
But Im not sure how can I handle it.
Also how can print the dropdown value back on the appearance section.

Attached is the code snippet of appearnce,content.xml and java code.

Can anyone suggest me on this..

You want to get the drop down selected value of appreance xsl or content xml parameters value in java class? as u'r question and java class code are conflict..

I wanted to get the value of the drop down from the appearance xsl. And use the value in my Java class.

Suggest the missing code or wrong thing I made in my code..

If datums are under "Content XML" then it is pretty straight forward to get the datum values in your Java class.

If datums are under the "Appearance XML" then it may be possible to get if you retrieve the component XML via your Java class and then parse out whatever datum you need. There is no directly exposed API/method to get these types of datums.
