Unable to read HTML in cgi task

I made a CGI tak after start task, i want to read html file in that cgi using following code.(We are creating html using DCrs iwth Generate-iwgen.ipl)

if (open(html,"<:encoding(UTF-8)","$vpath")){
local undef $/;
$HTMLString = ;
close(html);
local $/ = "\n";
}else{
print ("\n can not open file $!");

But it is showing "Permission denied".

Please tell me any solution?

I think you are getting the permission error to execute the CGI? Check the owner and permissions set on the CGI.

There is sample cgi show_env.cgi. Replace your cgi with this and see if it works.

If yes, place your CGI in the same location as this one and check if it works.

If yes, check for permission of the directory in which your CGI currently resides.

The cgi is placed in same location as showenv.cgi and it has 777 access.
The issue gets resolved if we uncheck the Restrict Access in the properties of Parent branch.And if we check the Restrict Access the issue comes in reading HTML file.So can you suggest some approach of accessing the html file in CGI.

Hmmmmm.....why might someone get a "permission denied" error?

If restrict access disables the ability for the CGI to read the HTML file - then clearly there is an issue with the owner of the process not having rights to either the location of the HTML or the file itself.

Does the logged-in user normally have access to read that file?
Perhaps they're not in the correct group(s) and/or perhaps the correct group(s) are not associated with that branch / workarea / directory path / file?

Permission denied error has gone when we uncheck Restrict Access property for that branch but in that case this branch is shown in general listings of all branches but we want only those users/groups who have proper roles/access can see this branch.

Is there any way so that with unchecking Restrict Access property , we can achieve this?
