Add a server
Jessica1848
Hi,
When an Administrator selects files from workarea and selects file-->Open Deploy Administration, he is taken to OD login page and is then shown a list of servers he can deploy these files to. My task is to add another server to that drop down list. Does anyone any idea how this can be done? I am very new to OpenDeploy ..so please pardone me if this is not a detailed explanation
Waiting for a reply,
Thanks,
PS: SOlaris OS , the custom menu item OD admin(in short) direct to the OD admin login page

I think you need to separate the two activities. The OpenDeploy Administration GUI does not retrieve information from the TeamSite GUI - and therefore the selected files in the latter have no bearing on what takes place in the former.
Adding another server to the OpenDeploy Admin GUI
Servers > View Servers
section of the GUI
However, being able to use a new server for a deployment target requires that an entry be made for it in your
od-home
/etc/odnodes.xml
file
You then have the option of firing off (or scheduling) a deployment from within the OpenDeploy Admin GUI, but this is independent of any files you have selected in the TeamSite GUI.
To fire off deployments from the TeamSite GUI you would need to create a new custom menu item CGI script that extracted information from the TeamSite GUI by way of form variables, and then runs the deployment by way of CLTs.

There is no standard OpenDeploy Admin option in the TeamSite File pulldown. You must have created a custom menu item for that.
