Creation of Folder using FormAPI

Hi All,

I landed in to a situation where we have a requirement for creation of folder based on certain values in DCR. On click of "Generate", based on the value fetched (from DCR), system then should understand and create the folder for the output file.

Any pointers to this will be helpful.

If you provide your version of TeamSite then it will be easier to answer your question as the API varies across versions.

Generally speaking however you'll need to get the form API to make a server call to create the folder.

Thanks for pointing it out. Well I am using TS6.7.1 SP2. Is there any pointer that tell / give better understanding for the implementing this functionality. Also in continuation to this below is the FormAPI that is not generating the DCR on click of "Generate" button. It would be great if you may kindly point the affected area in it:

I think you may need to specifiy the create_directories argument.


IWPageGeneration.setOutputFile (filename create_directories)
Sets the output file name to be used for previewing and generating. This modifies the
corresponding form settings option.
Arguments:
filename
The string path representing the templatedata relative path of the file.
create_directories
Creates the directory paths for filename if they do not exist (optional).
Returns:
Nothing.

Have you tried putting any alerts into your code so that you can see how far it's getting? Does it make it past IWPageGeneration.setOutputFile(final_file final_fldr);

Alerts are appearing fine only if commenting

IWPageGeneration.setOutputFile("churma/"+ct+"/"+mfldr+"/"+fldr+"/"+fldr+".php");

else it fails to show any alerts

Try reading the documentation a bit more - or at least what was posted in this thread - the second argument to setOutputFile is a boolean, not a path.

I think the issue might be on how your calling it.

I don't think that IWPageGeneration.setOutputFile actually does any generation it just calls a function that sets the information for when you hit the Generate button.

I think you need to run your handleGenerate function on init.

Try this instead.

I edited the previous code later to pass true to the setOutputFilefunction. Not sure if you caught that.

Anything in the logs?

I also have to put in a disclaimer, I no longer have a Generate button (removed long ago because our users do not need to run Generate) so I cannot fully test this on my box.

I noticed that you have the following in your second code post.

IWPageGeneration.setOutputFile(final_file final_fldr);

it needs to be something like this (you can put final_fldr+final_file above and assign it to another variable)

var finalPath = final_fldr+final_file;
IWPageGeneration.setOutputFile(finalPath,true);

As Ghoto mentioned, you're passing two variable to the function, but in your second code post you tried passing the two string variable. It is expecting a string and a boolean.
