I have run the script [...] and it does generate an html page
So - does script print anything to STDOUT? Does output conform to CGI protocol?Remember, your script must generate correct CGI whatever else it does.
Don't know, what is your script doing ? Try running it from a command line and see how long it takes, if it is taking too long then you need to fix the script. If that runs fast you probably are waiting until something times out.
Unless it's a typo you seem to have wrong callServer's URL Syntax (wrapper before iw-bin, etc)Try the following verbatim, you do not need protocol, domain and all this Jazz.IWDatacapture.callServer ("/iw-bin/iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi/generate_page.ipl", params, true);Also, make sure that ipl itself is located in iw-bin, that's where wrapper expects it
my $command = qq($IWGEN -t $templatepath -r $recordvpath $genfile);
Well if this is the 2nd to last line of your script I am surprised that nothing is being regenerated:my $command = qq($IWGEN -t $templatepath -r $recordvpath $genfile);
I'm probably missing something obvious to you - kindly share; thanks
Start reading your Perl books and figure out what the command qq does. More importantly what it does not do.
Thanks Nipper. Your nudge sent me in another direction which resolved my issue.
Was that other direction to use "qx" instead of "qq"?
