Restricting Component Access

Want to know if by any mean we can restrict components access while creating a page based on author groups/roles?

While Creating a Page, author clicks on Add COmponents & gets a list of all the components the Author should not be able to view or drag/drop or modify all the components, the Authors should have access to only few components.

Can we achieve anything like above ?

You may be able to restrict which components they can add to a page, by tweaking the permissions in /iwadmin/main/livesite/component, but I haven't tried it myself. Certainly, once the components are on the page, there isn't anything you can do to prevent authors from modifying their properties, moving them around, or deleting them (unless you prevent them from deleting even their own components, which wouldn't be very useful).
