Use of Java in TPL

I can use Perl code in TPL using iw_perl tag. Now , if I want to use a java code in TPL instead of Perl, is there a way I can do it ?
I read the manual and I see tag iw_system using which I can execute java code in TPL.
I am not good with using Perl and want to use java.If I want to use java in TPL, is there a way I can do it ?

You can run any executable, Java including through iw_system. Command's STDOUT will be
inserted into generated Page.

The problem however is that traditional PT gets parsed DCRs in the form of TeamSite:CRnode
Perl Object(s). You can perhaps *get* this information and somehow transform it in one or another
Java-readable format.

I suspect though that the level of Perl knowledge required to accomplish such a trick will make
Java call superficial. Eg, if you really can pull this off you may as well do what you need in
Perl in the first place.
