replacing string in livesite component

I need to replace a URL in data picked up from DCR based on a condition. I have written attached piece of code but doesn’t seems to be working. Please help on this, if anyone as any clue.

In the code.txt,

Datum[@Name='EmailBody'] is the field from DCR
string('xyz.com') is the content to be replaced in EmailBody
and where $path is the replacement string hardcoded in the component itself.

Do I need to include some xsl for this?
Also for setting the new value of EmailBody in span tag to render it, do I need to use a temporary variable to store the value of EmailBody, manipulate it and then pass it here.

Please suggest.

Post your "replace-substring" template. Where is that located in your XSL or an included XSL?

OOTB I believe this template is included in the "StringTemplates.xsl" file. Is that XSL file included in your component?

Thanks for the reply.. i was trying to manipulate the value from DCR with putting it into a variable. Did that and it worked.
