Master cannot edit/create dcr

Guys,

I cannot edit file although I'm a master. A previous user created file who left company. So Far I made a copy of file modified owner and group with correct permissions and I along with others cannot edit file or create new dcr within same workarea. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Check the permissions on the workarea. Workarea security may be on in iw.cfg

You may also try to create a new workarea, get latest and see if you can edit.

The error I'm getting is "You do not have permission to edit this file". Yes Nipper, branch and workarea security is turned on in iw.cfg. However, for other workareas this error doesn't occur.

who owns that workarea, and what group.

are you a member of that group ?

A master does not always have write access to all files. You must be a owner or a member of the group that owns the workarea and the object

Nipper another person of our current team owns the workarea and I'm also a member of this workarea group.

I, along with other team members within this workarea are able to create/edit files in other datatypes except for the datatype I just created and the other previous I have issues with even though permissions have been corrected.

Try File->New file

Is there a restriction in templating.cfg for that data type ? To certain users or roles ?

Thanks Nipper, allowed tags were missing from templating.cfg for datatype which worked after inserting along with appropriate group.
