LSCS dynamic component to pull DCR based on locale

How do I dynamically query LS runtime to list document based on locale ?

In api guide I see there is a way to do context.getLocale() to get locale but I did not see easy of setting locale. The locale code either be coming from the context/browser or by cookie which will be set when user clicks on locale list on the default page.

Now I need to figure out how to get that locale form context or cookie and retrieve dcrs based on that locale.

Any thoughts and suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at the functionality that is out of the box ? LS will read the appropriate DCR based on the locale setting already (index_fr-FR.xml, then index_fr.xml then index.xml assuming browser is set to fr_FR)

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have a follow up questions:

I did see in SP dev guide mentioning that LS will return a localized DCR based on request headers accept-language. Does it detects the users browser to determine the accept-language ?

There may be other ways, but I have seen it work with the browser setting.

Hi,

Even i want to implement this functionality.
I have created DCR's named as follows in the templatedata/data/foldername
1)BaseDCRName
2)BaseDCRName_fr_be
3)BaseDCRName_fr
4)BaseDCRName_en_us

In my template i have edited the component and given the BaseDCR's path.
According to the Out Of box Functionality it should automatically fetch DCR based on locale.

Teamsite Version:7.2.1
Integrated with Dot net.
Preview on IIS version 7.5
Runtime on IIS version:6.0

Kindly let me know if anyone can help
