Branching workflows in custom_instantiation.cfg?
System
We are having issues branching our workflows down different paths using the formapi in the custom_instantiation.cfg
the issue is with the javascript function >>> var workArea =IWDatacapture.getWorkarea(); does not return the full path which the branching code needs
pretty much are are using IWDatacapture.getWorkarea();to get the path
for example - if path = //SERVER/default/main/A/ > if the subfolder A is submitted, getWorkarea only returns //SERVER/default/main/
however, if //SERVER/default/main/A/test.html is submitted, getWorkarea returns //SERVER/default/main/A/
we need the full path folder level to do our workflow branching properly. any thoughts/ideas?

I haven't tried it - but perhaps this would work:
Create a hidden configurable variable with the default value of $IW_WORKAREA (or one of the other system variables) and then see if you can access that value in the instantiation field.

fish, thanks but we have tried that, it has the same issue as the formapi call, it doesnt return the folder selected, just the level above it.
i.e. i made a global variable called workarea_value with default value: y:$IW_WORKAREA, set it in the custom_instantation.cfg, and its the same result.
if user submits the "htdocs" folder to the workflow
//server/default/main/Brands/WORKAREA/Content/htdocs < folder
the workarea_value is set to //server/default/main/Brands/WORKAREA/Content (missing the htdocs folder which we need to branch off of)
workarea_value
maybe enter a feature request/ticket unless you have any other ideas?

Perhaps look at the area-relative paths of the files that are attached to the job (assuming there are pre-selected files)?
I don't recall the name of the variable to look at off-hand, but I do recall it being posted somewhere in this forum within the last year (or so).

Ahhh fish i think i found it, you are my hero...another "undocumented" feature, there is a global variable thats not in the WFM dropdowns that works!
found in this thread...

you can use a global variable and assign it a value--> $IW_FILES, and display in instantiation screen.. you will get a comma seperated list of names of all the files attached..
P.S. you wont find $IW_FILES in the drop down list, just type it and it'll work..
