Setting the file size as an EA

Hi All,

Just a quick question what is the best way of accessing a files size?

For example the site I am working on has a downloads section and various files are returned based on a product code via LSCS. Now on the display I want to show the file size, currently I have a field in which the client can use via tagui however they would like to have this automated.

I have considered FormAPI then making a remote call however for multiple tagging I doubt this is a feasible solution.

Any suggestions?

Which version of TS you are using ?
Are using NewTag UI i.e IW-Home/teamsite/local/config/tagui/ruleset60

or old tagUI i.e IW-Home/teamsite/local/config/datacapture.cfg ?

If I understand the specifications correctly, I think FormAPI may be the correct way to go - either with an inline or callserver script to programmatically set the EA on the file (which I gather you want so that it is delivered / accessible through LSCS / LSDS).

I haven't done too much with the new TagUI, but the tricky part, if I recall, is getting a handle on the file being tagged (sufficiently to determine the full file system path) so that your code can then perform the relatively simple task of determining the file's size and setting the EA (which itself does not actually have to be defined in the form)

While all the solutions here should work, your simplest solution is to just ask LSCS to return the file size. Example:
