[/html]In this code, to create a Proto of a workarea, a link is added.
I am not understanding, how do I figure out which element shall I modify in order to add a customize a particular element on the screen ? How do I access a particular element in order to modify it ?
In here action-list is used. If I want to modify "Copy To" link in Edit menu, remove "import" and "Preview" link from the screen, how do I access these Elements ?

You cannot modify an OOTB menu or GUI element.
You have to remove the OOTB item and replace it with your own custom item (presumably using the same name - though perhaps better if it uses a slightly different name to avoid confusion with the OOTB functionality)
