Unable to use JS files from DCTs after mov8ing to TS7.2.1

Hi All,

Thanks in advance. We have moved our DCTs and js files from TS 6.7.1 to TS 7.2.1 on Windows 2008. We noticed that when we do a New Form Entry, the DCT does not account any of the js files. Here is the DCT and js code. Any pointers please?

What is the real full path to ../../../../scripts/map_dcr.js?

Can you get to map_dcr.js directly from the browser?

If not, does the browser complain that it doesn't exist, or that you can't access it because of permissions errors?

Is this a file that is edited often? If not (and only TeamSite Admins do the editing), then maybe you might think about placing it into a location like \Interwoven\TeamSite\httpd\iw\userscript.

Thanks for the reply.

The full path is

//hostname/default/main/map/WORKAREA/scripts/map_dcr.js

When I try to access the file via TS address bar, it opens up the content in the notepad.

I have given FullControl to everyone on the JS file. Do I dont think it is permission issue.

We cannot change the location of the JS script as it would end up in editing bulk of files.

It should be ../../../scripts/map_dcr.js

Do you have an event to trigger init ? Something like onFormLoad....

It may be that when it tries to run init(), the form is not loaded yet.

I see the JS file with the same name in both the locations. I tried ../../../ on

with the code you had for JS. Still no change.

Any other pointers?

Good catch Nipper. I think you are correct in that Jenni's script call seems to go out of the WORKAREA and into another WORKAREA called scripts.

I tried it here and when I moved it it failed as well (using ../../../../scripts/map_dcr.js.

It worked fine when inside the same WORKAREA.

So, no, in 7.2.1 you don't seem to be able to call js files from another WORKAREA.

I did confirm it on my system as well (as indicated in my previous post).

I am sorry but is a bone-headed design.

Workareas should not be used in such a manner. I know there is nothing you can do about it. I always use location=webserver and then put the files in iwhome/httpd/iw/someFormAPI

The user iwui may not have access to that workarea.

I was accounting all available DCTs on our 4 different TS servers. We also have multiple branches / sub branches.

We are on Windows 2008. But yes we can write a script to do this function. I am also concerned about the testing that we need to perform for this change to happen.

That is still a bunch. I hope you promote from one server to another rather than making the same change on all 4 servers (assuming Dev/QA/Stage/Prod)

Webserver mode is much better for reuse. It will be a pain but not too bad.
