Hi ,

i am asking this question out of despiration , we have some issue with opendeploy service few days ago and it went down by its self

I have checked the od.logs as well the deployment logs but none is helping me to get reason why opendeploy service got disable

while we checked the service using command

./iwoderserverstatus

we got the folowing errror

OpenDeploy server host: localhost, RMI registry port: 9173
***ERROR - Connection could not be established to 'IWDeployService'

Can you please suggest me any other place where i can find the reason why the open deploy services got stopped , some place where i can see the status of the service

OD log contains when it stopped and error information(mostly license and service startup error).
We cant track why it has stopped, please try to bring service up again then check it is there any error got updated.

Thanks for the reply , i was just checking the od log in our production server (IWserver : /usr/iw-home/OpenDeployNG/log) and found that it was getteing socket error and local directory no ok error as below, the below error are also seen in the log files in the od server also(target server) :

My question is now , if we are sending request for deployment to the target server constantly , can the od service in the target server get effected ,as the log in the OD server is also showing the same error ?

You might check the availability of that particular port 9173 (busy?..blocked by firewall etc?)

Please confirm the below things
1. The deployment has worked before or not?
2. Whether the deploment is comparison based deployment?
3. Check the port is open in firewall or not.
4. Check test deployment in local itself
5. Check if fails only comparison deployment, then take backup target folder and delete it it target then try again which you are facing issues
6. Check you are able to communicate in both ways, using telnet or ping(sender to receiver, reciever to sender) because of error log "failed creating socket, got null."

Answer to your queries
1. It wont get affect on the no of requests except the job get hangs in both end and the performance

Ok.
The service will get down due to the following reasons
1. Hanged jobs(too many)
2. Too much load(No of deployments)
3. Memory space(log files and free space)
4. Files corrupted(OD core files)
5. License
6. Port issue
7. Machine down
