Datacapture Template default values don't work

Hi, possibly due to the crippled search functionality of this forum, I have not been able to find a solution to this problem, which I would like to clear up for my client.

We have defined DCTs for our data types and tagging assets - all works well. However, where we have attempted to pre-select the most-used default values, it simply does not work, requiring the user to select these values manually.
e.g. in our TeamSite/local/config/datacapture.cfg tagging config file

[HTML]

Language
Display language of content

[/HTML]

simply has no effect. We still have to manually select e.g. English.
This is true on our 7.1 installation and our client's 7.2 installation.
Is there a configuration parameter we have to set to make this work, or is the syntax changed, or what? Has anyone else seen/overcome this issue?

To be a bit more verbose... that datacapture.cfg file uses the metadatacapture6.0.dtd (or something like that) I believe, as such, all containers should have both

name

and

location

attributes, and all items should have

name

and

pathid

attributes - e.g.:

<item name="Language"  pathid="Language">
  ...
</item>

Make sure the entire DCT is correctly written and then try your tests again.

I have done this, making sure every item contains a pathid and every container a location attribute. I have checked the entire DCT and performed iwreset -ui.
No change. I notice some items don't have a database descriptor, including some of the examples and default rules provided by Autonomy. Is this needed/related.
Any advice appreciated....

No - the database element is optional - and only really used by DAS.
Repost your DCT - maybe we'll spot something.
(Make sure you format it correctly for the forum - and Preview before submitting it)
