How to retreive "Due Date" present in workflow task list in my java code

Hi ,

I have a "Due Date" field in my workflow instatntiation screen.
I have captured it and it is now reflecting in the workflow task list.
How can i retreive this "Due Date" from the workflow task list and use it in my Java code which i am calling as an external task.

Any pointers would be of great help.
