I get the following when trying to generate from a new template.

Not sure what the error means or where to look for the source of the error.

An error occurred in utility daemon. Error code: 7. Please see details in iwutild.log.

Is this the same as the 5007 error in contentcenter services references DCR ID error?

Run iwpt_compile.ipl from the Command Line to verify the PT and DCR

it is in iwhome/bin you can run it from the command line and it will tell you the command parameters.

One point, I always use full paths when using iwpt_compile. Depending on how you write your TPL, (i.e. use the DCR path to get the workarea, type, category, etc) it may fail with relative paths. Finally if you use ostream or load other DCRs you may need one of the other parameters. (iw_include_location)

OK, so you have a PT error.

Using a Unix syntax on Windows doesn't work really well (as you noticed).

What is your output file, should be something like -ofile Y:/default/main/.../somefile.html

Can you post your TPL ? Is this an XML style TPL ?

Ah- I will run it with the output file designated - thought that was optional and if not provided would write the output to stdout.

FYI - posted the tpl earlier and it is XML based.

Not sure if it's the source of your problems, but the PT you posted contains the following:

Those characters were represented by what looked like:

\256?

when I viewed the file in Emacs - I copied and pasted it here and they showed up as you probably see them above -- I'd say you have some high-order-bit character(s) embedded within your PT and you should fix that and try testing it again first.

Well - interesting - If I try to edit by choosing the DCR I get the following when trying to save, preview or generate. Notice what appears to be duplication of parts of the path

path //nameofserver.lowes.com/default/main/loweslink/loweslink_non_secure/WORKAREA/loweslink_non_secure_content/templatedata/LoweslinkSimple/loweslink_simple/data/nameofserver.lowes.com/default/main/loweslink/loweslink_non_secure/WORKAREA/loweslink_non_secure_content/templatedata/loweslinkSimple/loweslink_simple/data/testpostregtrademark was received.

When I choose to edit the generated file I can save, preview or generate without error.

I've never had this issue when trying to edit a document by choosing to edit the dcr before - it always had just opened the form with the data in it and worked.

Thoughts?
