Issue with the manifest files

Hello Everyone.....please help Smiley Happy

I am having an issue with the manifest files.I will explain it in detail so kindly be patient.

In the iw.cfg file i am having a entry as shown below.

[teamsite_templating]
preview_history_limit=5

Hence every user can have atmost 5 manifest files and 5 temporary html files.The preview directory is the default directory. In future as a master user i change the iw.cfg file as shown below.

[teamsite_templating]
preview_history_limit=3

I reset the configuration files for the change to take effect. When i am trying to preview the DCRs, the preview is returning a blank page.The reason is the manifest files are not getting deleted and updated with the new ones automatically.However i manually deleted the manifest files and the preview is working fine.

If there are 100 users and and the above situation occur then we can't delete the manifest files for all those 100 users.It should delete existing manifest files automatically as i made a change in the iw.cfg file as shown above.
I searched a lot but didn't find the suitable answer.

I request everyone to provide me an appropriate solution.Thanks in advance........ Smiley Happy

If you want an official appropriate solution - contact Support.

If you want a guess - anytime you decrease the number of allowed previews, you should clear out all the existing manifests first.

What version of TS ?

There were some problems before when people had done an iwsubmit from the command line (in earlier versions of TS) and the zz_tst files became versioned objects. Then you try to delete them and they show up as versioned/deleted objects. Preview would fail but generate would succeed. That is why people put preview limit to 100 or so.

Log into the server and see if the files are private or if they are versioned (in the Staging area).

I am running TS 6.7.1 SP1 and OD 6.2.0 on Win 2003 server.
As you said i am getting the preview fine when i generate.I checked the manifest files and they are not marked as private as all the Domain users full permissions.Do i have to manually delete all the files before making any changes in the iw.cfg file?? Is it recommended??
