JNDI error

Hi,

I am getting this error when I try to deploy files.

[JMSBridge] ERROR com.interwoven.bridge100 () - Unable connect to IWOV JNDI provider.
[JMSBridge] ERROR com.interwoven.bridge100 () - Msg: Failed to connect to JNDI provider

Could someone help me in rectifying it?

JNDI is just a Java protocol for naming and finding other services. You're going to need to provide a whole lot more context and error messages.

However, I can say that this is typically caused by something attempting to connect to the eventsubsystem, which may not have initialized properly. If that is the case, you should be able to find error messaging related to ActiveMQ and/or iw-eventsubsystem in ApplicationContainer/server/default/log/server.log. That should point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your response. I looked into the log files as you sugested. But couldnt find any logs related to ActiveMQ or iw-eventsubsystem. The server.log file is not updated.

Well there's problem #1 if you're on 7.x (which version are you on?). I wonder then, in which file did you see the JMS error message? What was the context around it?

Note that the server.log file only captures logs related to the initialization of the various web applications, so it's only supposed to update when the JBoss App Container is [re]starting.

We are using 6.7.2 version. This error message occurs while trying to deploy the files to LiveSite runtime using PLC workflow.

Also the following error message appears in livesite.preview.log file.

Ok, so forget the ApplicationContainer stuff then. You'll still have to scan your logs (I don't have a 6.7 install in front of me to tell you which ones) and find related error messages or at least provide more log context around the error.

The "Invalid Page" exception could be caused by any number of problems within the page itself (XSL, Externals, etc.), but it won't have anything to do with your JNDI problem while attempting to deploy.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. This was caused due to the port issue in the runtime server. It is resolved now. But now we are facing another problem with metatagger while trying to execute the publish livesite content workflow. I opened a thread(below is the link to the post) in Metatagger product line. The problem is metatagger services once started, stops immediately wit the log, "java.lang.Exception: Connection failed!!!! Either Server is not running or Server is busy (No free worker threads.)"

Hi,

We removed the meta data section that was causing error in the PLC workflow and tried submitting hte files to runtime. The workflow completes successfully with message that the files are deployed. But I dont see the files in the runtime environment. I dont find any logs too. Am I missing anything?

Has your PLC workflow ever worked successfully? Are there errors in the OD logs? Do the logs report that anything was actually deployed? Are your environments and targets properly configured? etc..

I dont find any useful information in the logs or anything about the files deployed. I came to know from the people worked in this project before, that the PLC workflow worked properly some 2 yrs before. But I am trying it for the first time.

Are deployment logs even being created?
Yes - post the OD macro and micro deployment logs
No - Implies the problem is with TeamSite and not OD, in which case I'd hope iwservletd_out.log will contain something useful, or perhaps there's a Javascript error you can capture with Firebug?

Somewhere, somehow, you're going to have to find a log message or an error somewhere. If you still can't find anything, you might have to call up support.
