it always equates to true (note there are two single ticks after eq, and opening "<" before each of the iw_if and the actual code has a close tag for a CDATA section before the iw_if and at the end of the expression and the opening CDATA tag after the closing iw_if)

Also looking at your original code, it looks correct.

Dump out the variable somewhere in the HTML to verify the data is what you think it should be.

Also, you should get rid of the CDATA tags. If you close off the iw_pt line (1st line of the TPL you do not need them.

Yea you do not need the then/else unless you want both.

Don't need the iw_else /iw_else

So that is the same code but with iw_then tags? Strange, they are supposed to be optional (I always use iw_then)

More strangness ...

When using external-editor="visualformat" it moves my text in the generate page - looking at the html from the editor it adds the following stuff around my text. I can understand everything except the 65279 and the moving of my text inthe generated file. Thoughts on that?

Yea the VFE can really mess up iw_if statements. It may drop

tags if there is no data, obviously that will be picked up by the iw_if as having data, even through it is not visible.
