how to return list of values to keep them in DCT dropdown menu

I have written like this:

in the DCT i am fetching like this

Why don't you test it and see what works. Then post questions about what doesn't. Also trying to debug yourself would be a great idea.

Looks Ok. The thing I did not like was that your JS code depends on the fact that fetched
option entries have a space as a delimiter. That may backfire if some Entries have "inner"
space, like an option for "Puerto Rico" or "Los Angeles".

if I were you I would consider a safer delimiter to set/parse. Something like this:

my $optionsString = join('+', @options);
. . .
<BODY onload='parent.getScriptFrame().fetchLocations("$optionsString");'>

Or even better.. print it out as a JavaScript array so you don't have to join and split on arbitrary delimiters at all.

Sure, one can always make perl to generate JS code that populates FormAPI JS Array with
entries one by one, no delimiters need apply. At this level of discussion though, I find it much
easier to recommend a delimited string than to explain finer points of "callback" functions.

Nope. The comma here is a delimiter of array items, and therefore not arbitrary. Also, since I quoted individual options in the "push" operation, your item would work just fine. This would result in something like the following. I'm passing a Javascript array instead of a single String -- I didn't say anything about complex callbacks.
