Can you confirm if the tar.gz was extracted correctly, and you are using root user for installation?

ManojK

tar.gz file is extracted correctly & logged as root user. Does this user need any specific permissions?

Thanks & Regards

Have your sys admin check the permissions on /tmp

The installer runs executables out of /tmp and some admins set that so nothing is executable.

Hi..

I have extracted 6.7.2 with no errors, but I am getting same error message, can anyone please help with this one.

Note; There is no issues with /tmp.

Thanks,
Manoj

What does an ls -l show for

./InstallerData/private.bin: /export/home/TeamSite/InstallerData/jre/bin/java

?

If it's not executable - that at least explains the original error, though it doesn't explain *why* it's not executable.

ManojK

command :
ls -l /export/home/TeamSite/InstallerData/jre/bin/java

Result:
-rwxrwxr -x 1 root bin 74252 Dec 22 2007 /export/home/TeamSite/InstallerData/jre/bin/java

Command :
file /export/home/TeamSite/InstallerData/jre/bin/java

Result :
/export/home/TeamSite/InstallerData/jre/bin/java ELF 32-bit MSB executable SPARC version 1, dynamically linked, stripped

It seems java file is SPARC compiled binary however I am using intel 64-bit processor. Is it a processor problem?

Please suggest.

This is a SPARC processor and not Intel ?

The first mention in the release notes of 64-bit systems supported for Solaris is in 7.1 - since you're using 6.7.2, this could certainly be an issue.
