iwodcmd returning error code : 256, although deployment is successfull

Hi All,

Environment :

Teamsite 6.7.1 with Version 6.1.1.0.0 Build 62302 Interwoven 20061128 on Solaris 10 environment.


I am using iwodcmd CLT for the deployment and capturing the output of the CLT in a variable.

But the issue is iwodcmd CLT output is 256 eventhough deployment is successfull. There are no errors in the deployment logs and the files are successfully deployed to target servers.


Given below is the code snippet for initiating the deployment:

my $deployCmd = "$iwHome/OpenDeployNG/bin/iwodcmd start $odConfigFile ";
$LOG->info( "OD command : $deployCmd \n");
my $odResult = system($deployCmd);
$LOG->info(" Deployment Result : $odResult \n ");


I checked the open deploy pdfs but didn't get any help.


Could anyone please help me to understand, why this is happening and how to fix this problem?

What you see is a command (eg, system's, not iwodcmd) Return Code, you have to shift it right 8 though to get a correct value (256 >> 8 = 1).
