Emails not being sent after the deployment is completed.

Hello,

Emails are not being sent after the deployments are successful. I could see the email contents being dumped to the dead.letter.

I have configured the email under the [iwsend_mail] in iw.cfg file.

maildomain=mydomain.com
mailserver=mysmtp server ip
use_mapping_file=true
email_mapping_file=/usr/iw-home/local/config/wft/email_map.cfg
debug_output=/usr/iw-home/logs/iwsend_mail.log

Also the log file is not getting generated. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Have u called the iwsend_mail.ipl in any external task,or run as command in the script ?

You can use "iwsend_mail.ipl Script" chapter in the workflow developer guide.

You can use bellow code in the perl script to send mail to multiple recipients

where
$iwhome/custom/mailTemplate/AdminReport.txt - is the html body that you want to sent as email to user.

If you're going the Perl route - I recommend the use of IWHOME/local/config/wft/solutions/iw_solution_email.ipl (some details covered in the Workflow Developer's Guide and, if I recall correctly, by running perldoc on the script itself. You can enable both $DEBUG and $VERBOSE within the script to get good debugging information - especially with regard to the SMTP interaction.

While iwsend_mail.ipl is decent (I believe I was probably the last one to do any significant work on that script, many moons ago) - iw_solution_email.ipl is more versatile.

If you're going the Java route - I recommend writing your own mail program based on the samples provided (either in one of the docs or in the customer_src_sample directory - don't remember which, if not both) - as the OOTB Java mail programs are (IMO) lacking functionality that exists within the OOTB Perl mail programs.

If you have configured PLC workflow then you can test the email service whether it is working or not by running this workflow. Or you can set same set of Email Task (URL Task) as PLC in your custom workflow (WFM) to send the emails.
