contents inside Y:\default\main\ missing

Hi,
We are seeing that the contents inside of Y:\default\main\ have gone missing, this happened after a reboot of the TS windows server last night.
The only folder inside of main is Workarea which is empty.
TeamSite logs don't show any indication for the missing folders and data.

Any insights ?

Hi,
Check your Teamsite service.
I hope it has not been started.
Make sure that all the services are up and running.

All the TeamSite services are started.
Also did a server reboot and iwreset -a to see if that helps but didn't.

Hi,
Try to stop and start the Teamsite service and also try to see the logs with the current timestamps.
Post what you get after this stop and start of the TS service.

You need to state what rev of TS you are using.

In 6.7.2 this happened to a customer when the event_subsystem log was too big and it would not start.

We have 6.7.1 SP1.
In the eventsubsystem folder, the size of openjms.db was 35 GB, I stopped the eventsubsystem service and deleted this file, a .lg and a .lock file. Then started up the service and finally restarted the Interwoven TeamSite service.
That seems to have solved the problem, I now see the contents in the Y drive !!

You never should go live with OpenJMS as the DB for the event subsystem. IWOV has always stated that. You can use a real RDBMS and you will avoid issues like this.

Or disable the event subsystem if you don't really need it (e.g.: If you don't use DAS, ReportCenter, or automatic Search indexing)

Yes, we're not using reporting/searching, I've stopped the eventsubsystem service and made changes in iw.cfg to disable eventsubsystem.

IIRC, that does not completely disable the event subsystem. Check the support site, there is a config file or two you also need to change.

On Windows I believe it's a separate service and you can just disable the service.

On Unix I'm not sure (I believe we just disabled it in the iw.cfg file on a Solaris x86 TS 7.2.1 installation - and as far as I could tell it didn't seem to be running anymore)

In the iw.cfg file I have set this option

[event_subsystem]
ew_enable=false

Plus stopped the Interwoven Eventsubsystem service in Windows services panel.
Don't see any more .db files in eventsubsystem folder.

Something is not right.. after rebooting the server I am again missing the contents from Y: drive.

Tried re-enabling the eventsubsystem as that was recent change I had done..Have disabled the eventsubsystem now.
Also tried deactivating and then activating the content store via iwstoreadm -d and iwstoreadm -a resp. but that also did not help.

Checked the trace, error logs but don't see any related errors. Also checked all TS services are started.
Any ideas for troubleshooting ?
