TS 7.1 ans IIS 6 and Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials

Hi,

I have setup the IIS server with TS 7.1.

When I try to browse from IIS the images come properly but if I try to preview the image file from Teamsite, it shows a authentication popup.

When i give user name as TSIMP_<hostname> and the corresponding password, and after couple of retries, shows the error as "HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials"

Hi,

Oops! Account was locked out, had to unlock it.

However the image is not geeting displayed when accessed from within the teamsite server, only a blank page is being displayed.

The url shown in the browser is http://localhost/iw/cci/meta/injection/iw-mount/default/main/component-guide/WORKAREA/shared/iwov-resources/images/component-guide/logos/Ajuba_mobile_logo_sm_hov.jpg

But when I browse/access the image from the IIS server the url shown is
http://localhost:81/iw-mount/default/main/component-guide/WORKAREA/shared/iwov-resources/images/component-guide/logos/Ajuba_mobile_logo_sm_hov.jpg

So am I missing any configuration in IIS which is not documented anywhere?

Is it just that one image? Could be that it's got an encoding issue that your browser can correct when you access it directly, but can't be properly read by the Java layer. It's definitely not an IIS configuration problem; it's something to do with the injection of the Visual Preview toolbar overlay.

All images or all JPGs?

That part of the code seems to be looking at the content type and charset (presumably from the HTTP response headers) and trying to figure out what type of asset it is. If I had to guess, you might be missing a MIME type mapping in your IIS config. Use Firebug on your working (/iw-mount/) link and check that your content type is coming across as something valid, like


Content-Type: image/jpeg

If IIS is explicitly sending a charset for the images (or you've used one in a config file like iw.cfg), make sure it's one that is resolvable by Java on your system (http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/nio/charset/Charset.html)

Rpoulin is basically asking, "do png or gifs work" and more importantly "jpg'. If so, then you need to add a mime mapping in IIS for jpeg.

I also seem to remember having to set up a mime type in IIS during my TS 7.2.1 install for some image extension. But my memory may be failing me.

Is this a new installation of TS7.1 ?

I also faced similar error for all images.

- I changed the password for "TSIMP_yourServername" user & Changes the same password in IIS 6 at "Default Web Site"-> rightclick -> properties ->directory Security->Set User as TSIMP_yourServerName & Its new password.

- Enable Anonynmous Authentcation

- restart Default Web Site where your iwmount is located

This resolved the authentication error for me for a new installation.

Did you try to just run the

IWHOME\install\tspostreboot.pl IWHOME ?

There's code in there that attempts to keep the username length to a maximum of 20 characters.

If need be, make a copy of the script and modify it so that it doesn't exceed the length of the username on your system (assuming it's less than a 20 character max)

Thanks Fish . Run the IWHOME\install\tspostreboot.pl it created the TSIMP user . However it syas it did not configure IIS .

However, Teamsite is up and running Y: looks fine (for the moment) am able to create branching structure . so i dont know if all is well yet.

Test by going to http://yourserver:81/iw-mount/default/. If you get anything but a directory listing, you've got some IIS configuration to do.
