iwsend_mail question

Greetings!

I've a quick question about iwsend_mail.ipl. Does anyone happen to know what this error message is about?

"iwconfig: variable not found var: debug_output section: iwsend_mail"

The command I'm using to get this error message is:
/default/main/production/oneweb/util/WORKAREA/util/workflows/xenu_report/xenu_report.ipl 2536531 2536533 /default/main/production/oneweb/ibd/WORKAREA/ibd

iwsend_mail is called with the following parameters just before the end of xenu_report.ipl:

iwsend_mail.ipl -b "$output_file" -s "Xenu Link List" -t "$user"
- $output file is a list of links to web pages
- $user is the e-mail address of the person I'd like the report sent to

I've checked iw.cfg, and the "debug_output" value is:
debug_output=/tmp/iwsend_mail.log
(The file exists, with 777 permissions)

If anyone could point me in the right direction to resolving this issue, I'd very much appreciate it!

Apologies - I am just a junior developer - not a Sys Admin (he's too busy with other work to help me). I think I see the problem in the iw.cfg entry - there is no valid mail server specified (unless this can be configured elsewhere):

[iwsend_mail]
## 'maildomain' is the (default) email domain of users.
## For example
## maildomain=mycompanyname.com
maildomain=
## 'mailserver' is the SMTP server that TeamSite's email
## notification script can use to send mail.
## For example
## mailserver=mail.exampledomainname.com
mailserver=
## Set 'use_mapping_file' to true if you are planning on specifying email
## addresses explicitly for each TeamSite user in a mapping file
use_mapping_file=false
## 'email_mapping_file' is the location of the file mapping TeamSite
## user IDs to email addresses or IDs. See the example file
## /local/config/wft/email_map.cfg.example for details.
email_mapping_file=__IW_HOME__/local/config/wft/email_map.cfg
## if 'debug_output' is set, then debug output will be streamed
## to the file location it indicates.
