Just go to the installed components section (go to the components branch under iwadmin store) ,then go to "Social Computing" folder and you will see "Rate This - 5 Star.component " component

The components provided here rely on your website visitors being TeamSite users. This not always the case. In a system I built, the anonymous users were able to rate content (control repeat ratings by session or cookie) and logged-in users were able to rate content once only (control repeat ratings by user profile) and the ratings were stored in a database table outside of Teamsite databases. I created some ajax-enabled LiveSite components and
used Jquery "raty" to perform this. See other posts for help integrating JQuery with LiveSite (7.1/7.2).
I hope this helps.

sorry for the delay in the response, the problem i am facing is my site is buit in team site and the output page is rendered as a html, i came to know that livesite component cannot be used inside tpl, so have decided to go with jquery and ajax.
@Binettoid can u please tell me how u used ajax enabled live site component, if possible some sample code..

Thank you

The out-of-the-box Rating component does not require your LiveSite users to be TeamSite users, but it does honor whatever user authentication you have in place in your LiveSite site. It can also optionally be set to allow anonymous postings just like Binettoid's.

In addition, you can plug in your own rating service to persist the data any way you like or tie in to external services.

However, it does require the LiveSite runtime, so if you're deploying without the runtime/display service--contrary to this thread's title--then you're really looking at implementing your own service and contacting it via AJAX.
