Editing Template with Fixed Layout

Hi,

Thanks in advance. Initially I had created the templates by without using fixed layout and now i want to create the templates with Fixed Layout by without deleting templates. I had deleted the components from templates and now have no idea to include to Fixed Layout in the templates.

Can anyone help me to come out of this? Is there is any solution for this or we have only way to create new templates?

You will have to recreate templates. There is no way to add fixed layouts in the template as far as i know.
Any specific reason why you dont want to recreate the template? If the template is already used in pages, users will anyways be prompted to update the template in their page doesnt matter if you recreate the same template or update the template.

Hi,
Not clear about the question you have asked but the basic fundamental is:
1.You create your fixed layout in the location:default/main/your branch/WORKAREA/work/iw/config/fixed-layout.
Submit your layout(.xml file).
2. Go to template branch and make a template by selecting the layout type you made and add your required components.
3.Go to sites folder, make your page with the layout type you made and add the concerned template.
