ASP.NET web application interface to TeamSite
DenSar
Hi,
I've started getting up to speed to learn TeamSite. My background is as a software developer. My responsibilities will entail doing custom components and creating separate tools to help administer TeamSite.
I've found a bunch of documents (PDFs) that seem to detail quite well, at first glance (I've not yet had time to go in depth all of them), how to configure and customize TeamSite. I've not yet found anything that would explain how to access TeamSite via an external application. I'm not sure if I've missed it somehow?
For example, if I want to write an ASP.NET application that would make some kind of API calls, or web service calls, or even read from specific configuration files, in order to get a list of existing Branches in a store? How do I go about doing this with VS.NET? Is there specific DLLs that are available that I can use in my ASP.NET application? Or web services available for me to call? Is this documented somewhere so that I could use that as a reference? Are there any "must check out" ressources on the web for this kind of work?
Sorry if this is very basic, but there are a lot of documentation available to me and a bit of a learning curve for the product, and I'd like to make sure I've got the right approach and a good direction to get me going.
Thanks,
D
