DataBase configuration change

Hello,

We are using Teamsite 7.2, We have to modify the teamsite server to point to different database than the one we configured during installation. We just need to change the IP address of the database server, all other things would remain the same. Could any one please tell me where exactly we need to modify the Database IP address.(any property file or any xml file )

Hi,
There are quite a few ways of doing it.
One of the ways is to put the DB info. in the deployment config mapping file.
The Source and destination is placed here along with the table mapping but this is not the right way of doing.
The second way is to call a perl file(.pm) from your dd config file and this file contains all the information about your DB.
So you need to check how you have configured things.

I think he meant he needs to change the database locations of things like the eventsubsystem, reporting and common services.

The answer is there's many config files littered all over the place with these things, and I don't actually have an index of each one. You'll have to scan the WEB-INF folders of the various apps under ApplicationContainer and other XML files in CommonServices and such. Suffice it to say that you could have saved yourself the trouble, had you used a FQDN instead of an IP address. While you're changing them, you might consider doing that this time.
