Web CMS (TeamSite)
OpenDeploy and Network Bandwidth
Aryan
Hi,
platform:
TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1 (Production)
OD 6.2.0 (Production)
Win 2003
We have an issue where the deployments from TeamSite Production to our runtime/website servers are really slow. Our servers have a network speed of 1Gbps. But in spite of this, the deployment of 1.7 GB file takes close to 45 minutes for deployment to 4 servers (transactional). In this context I wanted to know if there is restriction on the OD end to make sure that it does use of the complete network bandwidth. The reason i am asking this question is that i ran OD command for this from command line and monitored it. At any point in time, OD was consuming only 8% of the network capacity.
Hence I wanted to know if this is a restriction on the OD end. If yes, can this be changed or is this fixed? We are ok either ways.
Thanks in anticipation of the response.
Cheers

I'm not sure if there's any way to force OD to use more bandwidth - but your description of your issue is missing at least some details - like whether this is a filelist, dir-diff, or TeamSite-diff deployment and whether you are transferring EAs, etc. All the various options available to a deployment tend to have some effect on its performance (e.g.: transactional deployments will always take longer than non-transactional deployments).
You might also consider opening a case with Support to see if they have any suggestions.

Its a file-list deployment/transasctional/deployments to 4 servers. No transfer of EAs.
I will open case with Interwoven.

What transferRules are you using? I've seen deployments take a *long* time, especially when using checksumVerify with a large number of files.
