Installing TeamSite 7.1 on Sparc without video card

Hi,
Our Sparc boxes are hosted at a service provider, and we only have SSH console access to them.

Sparc boxes also don't come with video cards.

TeamSite 7.1 must be installed in GUI mode - the new "Interwoven Installer" doesn't support console-mode.

Has anyone come across this problem - how did you proceed?

Yes, TS 7.x runs only in graphical mode on Solaris and Linux.

Any application which can export the GUI of a Solaris can be used. Some of the applications which are generally available are Exceed, xManager, Reflection X Advantage etc.

I have installed with console mode (7.1 on linux). But you must have the X windows libraries loaded to do it.

Note, this was not using exceed or anything like that, it was the old console mode, it still wanted the x libraries even though they were not needed.

You might want to use the Xming since it is free:

This will bring up dialog boxes for you to click on next, continue, etc.... Also gives you chances to click on browse and find jdbc files for the Common Services component.

Now getting it to actually install is another story...

Which Linux did you install it on? I am thinking maybe mine has a problem because I am only using RHEL 4 AS, but the release notes says it only supports RHEL 5.

Are you installing on a 64 bit Linux or 32 bit Linux?

I did an upgrade of REH 4.7 from TS 6.7.2 to 7.1

Was there anything special you needed to do to upgrade from TS6.7.2 to TS7.1?
I tried to do the upgrade from TS6.7.2 running the unified installer package, but it keeps saying installation unsuccessful.

Not that I remember. The 7.1 upgrade/install was a pain and there have been threads about it. But it was successful for me in the end.

To follow up on this, while running the 7.1 installer on Linux in console mode worked, it is not working on Solaris. So I have been force to use Cygwin-X to remote display.
